Meet The Team
Pan Pantziarka is co-founder and Chair of the George Pantziarka TP53 Trust. He lost his first wife, Gina, and son, George, to cancers related to LFS. At the Trust he acts as a bridge between the clinical and research worlds and the LFS community.
Professionally he works in drug repurposing for oncology, health policy and sarcoma advocacy as European Director of the Sarcoma Foundation of America. By training he is a data scientist, and continues to code whenever he gets the chance.
Outside of work he reads voraciously, has recently discovered the joys of exercise and loves fell-walking in Cumbria.
Irene Pantziarka is co-founder and Vice Chair of the George Pantziarka TP53 Trust. She was also George’s step mum. Although her career was in performing arts and education, she is now retired. She has written two books, including ‘For the Love of George’ (using her professional name, Irene Kappes), in which she tells the story of George and the family’s struggle against cancer.
Her role in the Trust is focused on having an overview to the future direction of the Trust, co-ordinating projects such as the LFS UK conferences and patient information pack and writing. She is also the Charity Commission contact.
Outside of the Trust she likes to fell-walk in the Lake District and travel with Pan on their annual European ‘train trek’, as well as spending time reading, playing the violin, and gardening.
Natasha Bramble was invited to become a trustee in 2012, primarily to provide financial expertise and advice. Although retired now, she was an accountant for many years with experience in both the private and public sectors. She holds several volunteer finance roles within the community and is happy to give her time and knowledge freely to non-profit organisations.
Gillian Winskell has been a trustee, serving as Secretary, since the end of 2012. She has a degree in Chemistry and German and has had a variety of jobs including working for Procter and Gamble and the Embassy of Finland, as well as in translation and education. She currently works as a school science technician.
Elizabeth has been a trustee of the George Pantziarka TP53 Trust since 2017. She first became involved with the Trust after finding out she had Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) in 2015, following a family member’s diagnosis.
Elizabeth is a non-practising solicitor, bringing her legal and professional experience to her role as a trustee, alongside her personal experience of living with LFS.
She is particularly interested in raising awareness of LFS, helping to make complex information easier to understand and access, and supporting families affected by the condition. She is also involved in the Trust’s social media and communications, helping to share information, raise awareness and connect with the wider LFS community. She is passionate about ensuring that people living with LFS have access to the information, support and resources they need.
Outside of the Trust, Elizabeth enjoys trying to keep fit, sharing plant-based meals with family and friends, and spending time with animals.
Steph has been a trustee of the George Pantziarka TP53 trust since 2022. She is a Chief People Officer and a mum to 2 girls living with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome.
Passionate about cancer prevention, patient advocacy, information and equity she is a PPIE Member for the All Wales Paediatric Cancer Predisposition Team and the Oxford Cancer Patient and Public Group; a PPIE co-investigator for Wales Virology Unit and a PPI member of the MILI Clinical Trial SteerCo.
In her spare time Steph enjoys being outdoors on the beach or the hills with her girls and their 2 dogs, Bruno and Coco.
Chris is UK Sales Director for a German manufacturing business and has been an ambassador of the George Pantziarka TP53 Trust since 2023, having attended his first LFS UK conference in 2022. Chris was diagnosed with LFS in 2007 following the passing of his mother and several wider family members and became involved in the Trust following his daughter, Cassie’s diagnosis in early 2022.
As a patient advocate Chris has spoken about living with LFS at the LiNCR conference at Oxford University in 2024, and at LFS UK 2024 subsequently, and is passionate about doing whatever is possible to ensure that LFS patients throughout the UK have access to any associated funding, tests and trials irrespective of their postcode.
As an ambassador he views himself as a sounding board to anyone who is newly diagnosed, or who wishes to understand more about LFS from someone living with it.
In any spare time away from work, Chris is an avid supporter of Hull City football club and he and his wife, Joanne, enjoy travelling throughout the UK and Europe in their motorhome, along with their two Miniature Schnauzers, Alfie and Leo.
Aimee works with the trust as an ambassador and enjoys reaching out and supporting people with LFS. Aimee first became involved with the charity after finding a great sense of community when she was diagnosed with LFS in 2020 just weeks before lockdown. This could have been an isolating experience, but building a network of people changed her outlook on her new diagnosis and helped her make decisions about her mastectomy, surveillance and options going forward.
Aimee is a mother of two IVF/PGD conceived children who were screened for the TP53 mutation through the IVF process. She works as Head of English at a London secondary school and enjoys spending time with her kids, feeding lots of treat to her rescued ex racing greyhound Roxy and convincing her husband they should be adopting more greyhounds and renovating the house every other weekend.
